黑虎殿位于独松阁西南，与紫竹林毗邻，为南五台72汤房之一。据称古黑虎殿创建于隋唐时期，殿内供奉观音菩萨，菩萨旁边有黑虎护法，因此得名。院内现存侧柏一株，树龄逾千年，属国家一级保护树木。
Black Tiger Buddha-Hall is located in the southwest of One-Pine Pavilion, adjacent to Purple Bamboo Forest. It is one of the 72 water rooms in South Wutai. It is said that the ancient Black Tiger Buddha-Hall was founded in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The hall enshrines Guanyin Goddess of Mercy and the protector of a black tiger is next to the Bodhisattva. It is the reason why this hall got its name. One oriental arborvitae grows in the courtyard, which is over 1,000 years old and is the tree under level 1 national protection.
